I set out to orient out of whiteness and here I am.

Orienting out of whiteness so I can feel more deeply, hold more deeply, and hear more fully. Orienting out of whiteness so I can feel myself as a person first, and as a racialized being second, or third or fourth or fifth. Whiteness as in belonging to power and supremacy. Orienting out if it, as in belonging to the earth and each other.

I came to this work of understanding whiteness and combating white supremacy by holding a magnifying glass up to myself, my family and ancestors to see who was guilty. I took the lead of my body and my intuition and it brought me into the power of being fueled by building authentic connection and belonging.

bringing ongoing work to a superficial close

This work lives beyond these words. This work is never done, it is so much more than a senior study. It is a sense of knowing, of belonging, and how I can participate in transformation while staying intact within myself and to what fuels me at the deepest levels. It is about the unknown and the messiness of tricky questions, but entering into them as best I can to reveal more truth, more depth.
