both/and + tricky territory
This work is me coming to know myself as I come to know an unjust world from a place of privilege or social advantage. It is walking the tricky line of advocating for myself, because I am a person, even though I have privilege. This is my story of holding my own personhood in the context of learning how to orient out of white supremacy and belong to a world invested in relationship, connection and care. There are parts of my upbringing and other parts of my identity that make me inclined to not prioritize my personhood or my own happiness, so I'm advocating for that part of me too. This is a both/and, a commitment to trying to speak truth in tricky arenas, and continuing to ask questions within questions.
